MANE AGENCY
Established in 2022, Mane Agency is a student-run public relations firm within the University of North Alabama Department of Communication. Our mission is to provide clients with strategic communication opportunities to achieve professional goals and grow business in a student-driven environment.

As an organization and course, Mane Agency is designed within the parameters of the PRSSA student-run firm program. We offer a number of student positions including account management and graphic design positions. Our unique approach to public relations ensures clients receive a quality of work no different than a professional agency.

FACULTY ADVISOR
BETSY HECKERT, MMC
Betsy Heckert is a senior lecturer at the University of North Alabama (UNA). Her professional background includes Grey Agency and LaForce + Stevens in New York, NY; the United States Olympic Commission and Association of Blind Athletes in Colorado Springs, CO; NPR and SCETV in Columbia, SC; and LBi in Atlanta, GA. Experience in Florence, AL includes tech start-ups PartCycle Technologies and PublicVine, fashion brand Alabama Chanin, Soul of the Shoals Magazine, Silverbeet Creative and Blue Acre Investments. Nonprofit work features The American Chestnut Foundation and Room in the Inn Shoals. At UNA, her priority is to support the development of the most professionally-proficient students through skills-based coursework and experiential learning while acting as Mane Agency's Faculty Advisor and the Department of Communication's Internship Coordinator.
